I had always wanted to know who God was. A new page turned in my life when I sat on the beach in Daytona on Good Friday, 1970. Two girls from Campus Crusade for Christ shared a tract with me called The Four Spiritual Laws. They told me how I could ask Jesus into my heart, live my life for Him, and be assured of a home in Heaven some day. Then they prayed with me right there on the beach that crawled with hundreds of thousands of spring breakers.

I’m a Hoosier and always have been. I live in Indiana with my amazing husband of twenty-five years, Nelson. He is my support group and encourages me to work hard to go further in my writing career. We met in 1984, blended our families when we married in 1985, and had one son together in 1986.

We love our blended family. Six children have all married. Four have scattered with their families to Michigan, Indianapolis, Lafayette, Seattle, and two have stayed here in Huntington. We brag about our fifteen grandchildren (wish they all lived closer) and three great-grandchildren. I’m hopeful that more are coming in the future.

My husband and I are two of those ‘health nuts’ you read about. We take vitamins, try to eat healthy, and work out often. That’s not to say we don’t enjoy our occasional chocolate and sugary deserts especially on vacation. Bananas Foster from O'hana's and Chocolate thunder from down under . . . yum, yum, yum.

My life is busy and full so how does there always seem to be room for a little more? I think God determines my journey. I have learned every day to listen for him to say, “This is the way, walk in it."

Wishing You His Best,

Donna

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men.
