When I was a kid, I loved to play with paper. My dad sold life insurance and had all these extra forms he didn’t use so he gave them to me. Every scrap I could get, I would write notes on pretending to be a teacher, or office worker, or anyone who wrote on paper. All of my pretend friends were my students and fellow office workers. Then I started growing up.

The itch to write something of value began in sixth grade in 1959. Just dated myself, right? Through the years God built the dream within my spirit to write, educated me through writing courses and conferences, planted wonderful people in my life to grow me and encourage me, and gave me an agent. I’m hopeful. My desire to have a direct effect on my reader’s lives and to share God’s grace and mercy, keeps me writing.

One of my greatest joys has been finding the community of Christian writers that is growing in and around Indiana. I would never have imagined there are so many kindred spirits floating around so close to home. Not only do we all share a common thread in writing, but we also love the same God. What could be better than that? See my links page for some of my favorite blog spots and web sites.

Genealogy? Love it. I spent twelve years searching out the spiritual heritage that my ancestors might have left for me. Libraries, graveyards, and trips through the eastern states eventually led me to discover Civil War soldiers, Revolutionary War patriots, and a proven link to Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. As a result of my research findings, I’ve earned the right to join the Daughters of the American Revolution and The Mayflower Society. See my genealogy page for my complete Mayflower ancestry.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men.
